Pre-Trial Intervention Program for Traffic Offenses (PTIT)

Pre-Trial Intervention Program for Traffic Offenses (PTIT)

Our goal is to provide valuable, easy and convenient solutions for the community, which includes our Pre-Trial Intervention Program for Traffic Offenses (known as PTIT).

The PTIT program offers many advantages and is designed to resolve cases without appearing in court, promoting safe driving and accountability. Choosing this proactive option means avoiding points on your license, having charges dismissed and incurring no fines or surcharges. Another benefit: being able to complete the course on the same day also removes the need for multiple visits to the courthouse. Acceptance into the program is determined by the City Solicitor and the only payment is for the participation fee, which is generally less than the initial fine. PTIT is a hassle-free alternative.

How do I know if I’m eligible for PTIT?

The OCS determines eligibility for the program, which includes the following criteria:

You must have a valid license or form of identification.

Your citation must be a qualifying violation such as running a stop sign, expired tag registration, speeding less than 34 MPH over the speed limit, or improper lane change, to name a few.
